Products - Bakki Showers

Mr Maeda president of momotaro koi farm has a goal to be Japan's no 1 nishikigoi breeder. In his attempts to improve growing conditions for the breeding industry he experimented with all the various media that are available, to find one that provided the best quality water. Quality water is the key to superior growth rates, beautiful colour and skin tone. It was at this time that the bacteria house and the bakki shower system was developed and put to the test against all other media. This experiment was carried out on ten ponds.

The bakki shower showed superior abilities in filtering water and the rest of the ponds in momotaro were converted to using this system, even the famous 1500 ton pond. It was said that the amount of Japanese mats removed from the giant pond was enough to fill three forty foot containers.

Many customers that have tried the Bakki showers have found that they no longer need to add buffers or clay (mineralisation) to their water. Bacteria colonisation only takes three weeks now as opposed to 4-6 weeks in traditional systems. Bacterial colonies recover at a rapid rate in case of power cuts (will not be oxygen starved like conventional filter) and no harmful toxins from dying bacteria return to the pond. When the bakki shower is used the water that falls from each tray absorbs more fresh oxygen and is simultaneously cooled. This is an added advantage in our hot Australian summer weather. Thus for ponds that are relatively small no additional aeration is needed.
